Las Vegas Company Creates Alternative Housing (and Pools) from Shipping Containers

Alternative Living Spaces doesn’t just build tiny houses. With the simple, yet strong support of shipping containers, this Nevada-based company also creates offices, gyms, and swimming pools.

Alternative Living Spaces creates various dwellings out of shipping containers.

Founded by Tony Lopez, Alternative Living Spaces was inspired by the need for affordable housing. The contemporary designs have been used for everything from permitted full-time dwellings to Airbnb rentals.

The containers can be used as backyard spaces for guests and gyms.

Their tiny homes start at around $39,995 for a non-permitted dwelling. The RV Certified dwellings start at around $54,995. The homes range in size from 20 feet up to 40 feet in length. They can contain main floor bedrooms, kitchens, living spaces, bathrooms, and even rooftop decks.

The interiors can include everything a traditional home has.

These great details can really be found in ALS’s more unusual designs. These include a desert yoga studio with a rooftop deck and a shipping container that holds an endless pool.

Alternative Living Spaces builds also include yoga studios and pools encased in shipping containers.
