Budget DIY Ford Transit Connect Camper Van

I recently discovered Outpost 33 and his simple camper van conversion. This is a reminder that a minimal do-it-yourself project is all you need to live tiny.

The camper conversion uses as its base a 2011 Ford Transit Connect van which was a cargo van for a roofing company in its previous life. Outpost 33 states that he made this conversion not to live in but as a weekender van so they have kept it as simple as possible.

The Ford Transit Connect is economical fuel-wise and also affordable to purchase because of its age.

The conversion basically consists of a fold-down bench bed with storage underneath. Curtains for privacy and water and camping supplies.

A huge step up from a tent.

By doing the conversion himself and with the help of his wife and mother they have kept the cost below $6,000. Phenomenal by today’s standards.

I’ve included a few pics from his video and a link to the Outpost 33 channel. If you like what you see be sure and follow him. I know I am.
