Small Stilt Seashore Home

This 576 square foot small home is designed by architect Bruce Lanier of Customary Inventive.

Modern design meets coastal comfort in this 576 sq ft home. 15′ in the trees with 19′ elevated ceilings, creates a unique environment for a coastal retreat. Relaxing, open, and inspiring are a few words we regularly hear from visitors.

It has a 24 foot by 24 foot footprint and sits on 15 foot tall piers.

Inside you will discover a lounge, kitchen, lavatory, and a bed room with a genius sliding barn door designed and constructed by Zack Giffin of Tiny Home Nation. It also features chairs and a eating desk!

You can check it out at airbnb.

  1. Is it just me, or do a lot of the people only live in their tiny for a short time before they sell or rent out their tiny?? I have seen a lot of the tiny houses built for the tv shows on these sites being sold or listed on airbnb shortly after i see the shows.
I do love this house tho. I love the fact that it is on stilts, with all that usable space under it protected from the rain.

    • I think that your viewpoint is distorted by the fact that people who want to sell or rent their house seek publicity (hence these articles/adverts) and people who are just living in their houses don’t want much publicity (unless they are selling consulting services or designs or a book).

    • The appeal to me 15 years ago was the idea of a single person dwelling. Now it seems like the majority of them are couples with an animal or two. That makes it sometimes twice as hard to adapt to a small space and maybe we are seeing the results. I lived on boats for years so my tinyhouse seems huge.
