Luxury and camping never used to go together, but with the increased interest and awareness of glamping (glamorous camping), the two terms are now not always mutually exclusive. The company Under Canvas has actually gone a few extra miles with the concept. They not only offer beautiful and comfortable tents for camping, but they are also located in some of the most desirable places in the U.S.
Under Canvas is a glamping resort company located in 8 locations around the U.S.
Inspired by an African safari experience, founders Sarah and Jacob Dusek created Under CanvasĀ in 2009. The company now has eight glamping locations on private land in places such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Great Smoky Mountains, and Tucson. The amenities include not only the tents, but also daily housekeeping, fresh towels, linens and communal campfires. While luxury camping is not for everyone, there is no doubt that these amazing accommodations have some beautiful designs and ideas. In fact, these types of canvas tents could work for full-time, tiny living.
The beautiful tents are available for overnight stays and special events.
The tents include solid floors, decks and even wood stoves.
Several options are available including Suite tents, Stargazer tents and Deluxe tents.
Under Canvas offers three different styles of luxurious canvas tents. The Safari is a large tent with three twin beds, the Stargazer has a bump out with a viewing window over the king sized bed as well as a wood stove and ensuite bathroom. The Deluxe also has a king bed and its own ensuite bathroom with a shower, sink and a flushing toilet. The Deluxe also has a wood stove for cold nights and a private deck. Each tent can sleep about three to four people. Prices vary per location and tent style, but average about $200 per night.
Some styles also offer a full ensuite bathroom with running water.
Under Canvas doesn’t only offer the glamping experience. The company also offers multi-day adventure and exploration packages such as white water rafting, hiking, and even fishing. The company also has canvas safari tents, tiny Hive tents, and even a HiveBath popup bathroom tent available for special events such as weddings.
