Outdoor enthusiast and entrepreneur Stacie lives in a stunning tiny house on land in northeastern Washington. Built by Wind River, it’s a spacious 10 feet wide by 30 feet long (3-m by 9-m). She designed it with their team to be open and airy with lots of natural light. So, a wall of windows was a must-have. French doors add to this. When open, Stacie doubles her living space with a 10-foot by 30-foot deck.
Stacie chose an extra wide and long tiny house on wheels for its flexible layout. It gave her enough room to add a sofa, a 4-seater dining table, and plentiful storage. This includes built-ins, like storage stairs to each of the lofts, and a tall wardrobe that she found at Target.
Her main bedroom loft combines convenience and comfort. Stacie can easily get dressed on the landing in front of the closet, next to her queen-size bed. She can simply sit down to maneuver into the main loft space. Additional shelving for clothing storage is tucked away to one side. Each loft features privacy screens. The guest bedroom also includes a queen bed.
Wind River masterfully optimized the kitchen. Open shelves and windows provide a light and airy feel. While long counters and a huge sink offer a luxurious amount of workspace. Stacie has more appliances than most tiny homes. But it doesn’t feel cluttered. A couple of them are stowed in the large pantry, built into one of the staircases.
“I’m someone who can really pair down everything that I need and be able to pack up and go and be nimble. It’s not necessary for me to have a ton of stuff, so the tiny home living is great for me. Also, my ideal situation in the future is to have tiny homes, or you know, Airbnbs, in multiple locations, whether it’s all in the US or in different countries as well. That way I can just throw the dogs and me in a car, start driving, end up somewhere else, and and write it all off.”

Stacie’s tiny home journey began during the pandemic. After completing her DIY van conversion, she realized that campervan rentals could be an income stream. So, she rented hers out part-time. Stacie grew her fleet to five vans. But she grew weary of city life and sold four of them. Then, she was able to buy her tiny home and put a downpayment down on her land.
Stacie plans to Airbnb her tiny house during the warm months while enjoying van life travels. In the winter, she’ll move back in to enjoy cozy winter living and snow adventuring. Stacie has been working hard to achieve her dream.
Over the past several months, Stacie has been developing her raw forested land. She’s added luxuries like a shed conversion gym and barrel sauna. One of her goals is to create trails all around her 16-acre property for hiking and cross-country skiing.
Stacie made sure this could all be permitted before finalizing the land purchase. Fortunately, Stevens County in Washington allows 2 park models and a foundation-based home on residential properties. That’s definitely not common! Stacie hopes to build a small house on the north end of the property if her rental business goes well. For now, she absolutely loves her tiny home and the flexibility of part-time van life.
