We are looking for a special someone artist/writer or peace-loving person who would love to live in one of the smallest cabins you’ll ever see.

Tiny Cabin
The cabin itself is rustic and luxurious… is 10×12 tiny but has built in cabinetry, microwave, hot plate, fridge, carpet, tile…and a very great little propane fireplace that closes to look like a curio chest with granite doors. Views of forest and koi pond with meditation gazebo. Fruit trees snow blossoms in the spring… it’s a pretty great, Close enough to the two other houses on the property to feel safe, but private and secluded feeling also.

The rustic part is it has a shared bath, shower/laundry about 25 ft away. And water comes to the porch (forgot to mention the cabin has a little deck) Inside is old fashioned pitcher and basin.

If you can live without alot of possessions, and want to pour yourself into art, writing or meditation… this may really suit you.

Shared Art room is big with lots of natural light, cement floors, utility sink, easels, large tables, etc. Sorry no toxic mediums.
Property is surrounded by inspiring nature, creeks, trees, sun, … close to beach and close to town. Occidental is a 15 min. walk. Santa Rosa a 25 min drive.

There are 3-4 other people on the property who are all nice, into organic gardening and believe home should feel like a sanctuary… the place you’re always glad to be.

There is an intelligent dog on the property, so sorry no pets. Cable isn’t hooked up but could be made ready fairly easily.

If this sounds like a fit for you, please let us know… $600. mo plus utilities. $400. deposit.

  1. $600 dollars a month to live in a 10 x 12 foot space without even a toilet?

That seems like a very expensive accommodation to me.

    • I agree. Even in Cali- heck, even in NYC! – $600 a month for 10 X 12 with NO facilities or running water is a lot to ask! I think it’s illegal in some states, to ‘live’ in something without a toilet and/or running water unless for camping or temporary shelter – am I correct?
Now…tuck in a little 3 X 3 ‘closet’ with a compost potty setup, and install running water from a small sink either IN the same closet or from a kitchen sink tap, would make all the difference in the world.
You don’t have to be deprived completely of every modern facility to ‘live tiny’. THIS is not ‘tiny’, it’s barebones!
To me it’s really not much better than living in a TENT, just has a little more ‘solid’ to the floor, walls and roof…
      I’m out… lol

  2. Actually at $600 it seems cheaper, and roomier than most college dorms and you don’t have some weirdo room mate with a penchant for Power Ranger Hentai….and it’s close to the beach!

  3. I have a rather large home that sits on 880 acres of forest. From my dinning room, I can see three states and 20 miles of the Ohio River. My payments were $67 dollars per month for a 10K sq. ft. home with 7 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths, 2 fire places, Italian marble window seals and 2 fire places built by a guy who came over from Italy. I’m not bragging but giving you an example of what you can build or find if you look other places. I am considering one of the tiny houses for a pool/guest house/rental. I am 6 hours drive by car to more than three/fourths of the Nations population.
Just look around for land. You just may be surprised at what you may find.
    Peace!

      What state are you in?
Yes buying land cheep can be done.
I own land in a small town in TX, the yearly property taxes are $4.00, The town is known for having been Bat Masterson’s town. I have never seen the property. The first Tiny House Town in the nation is two hours away, so I may go on a road trip soon. I am also starting to build my own Tiny House so I’ll keep you posted.

  4. Clearly, you haven’t been in Sebastopol, lately! EVERYBODY seems to want a tiny cottage for $600… but they are going for twice that, unfortunately. The current tech boom and rent spike in the Bay Area is driving rentals to absurd heights.
