Tiny House in a Landscape

This weeks Tiny House in a Landscape was titled by the person who sent to me as “Somewhere in Lativia” and has a very dreamy quality to it. A photograph in black and white it shows a tiny house with a couple of even smaller outbuildings sitting on top of a tiny island. A cute location as long as the water does not rise and mess things up.

It is very close to the mainland as it has a power poll with wires running to it. Most likely a vacation retreat and if you had a small boat it would be a lot of fun.

  1. Simply beautiful. I have seen this photo before, but was unable to locate it again. The simplicity this little house offers appeals to me greatly. If anyone has more info on this, could you get it to me? I would be highly appreciative.

  2. Looks just the way my place did back in the ’80’s during the first of a series of 3 floods in a 2 year period. Looks pretty cool until you have to live it.

  3. I’ve just been looking through your Tiny House in a Landscape posts, and noticed that this is the same island and house you featured on March 20th, 2010!

  4. It is truly picturesque, but I did wonder about the logistics and difficulties of living so near water (since this has to be during a flood since I see no evidence of a dock, boat house or boat).

    • Perhaps this was taken during a flood, but… I don’t see any submerged tree as I’ve seen in my own region in such cases. Granted, the grass seems to be at the very waterline or IN the water. But it looks so beautiful, doesn’t it?
