  1. That looks awesome. I’d want a shikibuton instead of a bed so I could fold it up when I wasn’t using it, but other than that, it’s pretty much perfect.

I want to get one, actually. I’ll contact you once I have the dough.

  2. Scott has also set up a site with all of the photos of each one of his builds. It’s at http://slabtowncustoms.shutterfly.com/.

I wanted to say thanks to Andy who had left a comment on Laptop and a Rifle Update about reading Your Money or Your Life. I had heard of that book, but until his comment, I never got serious about reading it. It is such a great book. I love the writing. Every sentence is filled with so much wisdom. Thanks for the recommendation.

  3. Price is right and great for somebody. I have a personal reaction to it, though. It is very “travel trailer-ish”. Travel trailers designed to sleep as many people as possible with those uncomfortable dinettes and flip sofas. Sorry, I spent too much time in a travel trailer and I’m just having bad memories!

    • Wyndwalkr, You could easily solve the dinette and sofa situation by not having those installed when being built, then use your own furniture. Easy enough.

  4. This is a manufactured park model that we customized with a SLABTOWN makeover. The only modifications we made were to the exterior. I guess I should have mentioned that in the initial write up but I assumed it would be quite clear from the pictures. We build different units, some that I would call a tiny house, some I would consider a park model and other that I would call modular homes, this is a park model and is advertised as such, not trying to mislead anyone in anyway. I understand not everyone that is a huge tinyhouseblog fan such as myself will love this unit but I do believe it is a great buy and I thank Kent for showing it.

    • Scott, Great price for affordable housing! One question … does room permit for a stackable washer & dryer where the bunk beds are located? This would also give you a place for a little utility(i.e., broom, etc) closet. ???
      Thanks, Ken, for posting.

      • Hi Fran, thanks for your comments.
The unit would need a little re-arranging but easily has enough room for a stackable, in fact you hit on two items in your comments that fit with what we originally had planned, we were planning to take out the bunk beds and put the bathroom wall at the end of them making the bathroom much larger, rearranging the bathroom layout and possibly installing even a larger shower or tub/shower and installing a w&d unit and added closet space. Also I had originally planned to take out the dinette and the futon to create a different look and I would have no problem doing so, in fact I would do all the above mentioned items to this particular unit at very little extra cost.
When altered to how I mentioned you would have a very nice one bedroom unit with full size ammanities including an answer to the laundry issue all in 240 sq ft that feels much larger at a very economical price. I plan to do another one of these units either to sell or to rent and it will have the above mentioned modifications. Thanks again for your comments,

        Scott
