SIP-Built Sprout Tiny Homes and Communities

Sprout Tiny Homes is going beyond the basic build/design concept. Not only is this company custom making tiny homes for resorts like Colorado’s WeeCasa, but they are now foraying into the tiny house subdivision business.

Sprout Tiny Homes is building Colorado’s largest tiny homes communities.

Sprout Tiny Homes, based in La Junta, Colo., builds three kinds of tiny homes from structural insulated panels (SIPs), Tiny houses on foundations, tiny houses on wheels and 40 foot long shipping container homes. Each of the homes feature chemical-free interiors and all are created in a streamlined manufacturing facility that generates very little waste.

Sprout’s tiny homes include contemporary details and chemical-free interiors.

The homes include both loft and non-loft designs, staircases and ladders and a contemporary aesthetic with some unusual details like the butterfly roof on the Man Cave.

The Man Cave is one of Sprout’s innovative designs.

Floor plans can be customized and include both stairs and ladders.

All the homes are configured for public or campground utilities or can be configured for off-grid use. They each have a variety of kitchen and living room layouts, washers and dryers and on-demand hot water. Several heating and AC options are also available.

Homes can come with and without lofts.

Kitchens include either full-size or compact appliances.

The small town of Walsenburg, Colo. was only the second city in the country to change its zoning laws to permit buildings less than 600 square feet. It’s now going to be the first of Sprout Tiny Homes’ tiny house communities. The community will consist of 33 homes on 4.6 acres. The homes will range in size from 260 sq ft to 760 sq ft.

Sprout Tiny Homes is building tiny house subdivisions in two Colorado cities.

Once news got out of the Walsenburg development, the town of Salida, Colo. also adopted the idea. The lack of affordable housing in this town near the Arkansas River will be helped with the Riverview at Cleora development. Located three hours south of Denver, the community is located on 19 acres and will have 200 tiny homes, a community building with catering kitchen, exercise facility and walking paths, restaurant lot overlooking the river and 96 storage units. At the time, this will be the largest tiny home development in Colorado.
