Tiny (Green) House Featured in Behr Paint Commercial

You know tiny houses have become mainstream when major brands put them up front and center in their commercials. Behr, the paint and paint products company, recently featured a tiny house in a commercial for their Marquee Exterior Paint.

The commercial features a young couple painting their tiny Craftsman house on wheels with a pretty, green paint and then driving it over various roads and through inclement weather. Both the paint and the house come through with flying colors. No pun intended.

The tiny house drives past a traditional home getting the same paint treatment and the commercial ends with the announcer saying,”Protect your big, small or tiny house.” The ad has also been featured in national magazines like Sunset.

  1. It’s a very lovely prop. Pay close attention to the shots that show interior light or daylight streaming through the house and you’ll see it is a shell. Additionally it is TINY not in a THOW tiny sense but in a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves tiny. The hand rail on the porch is not any taller than the distance from the woman’s waist to shoulder which you can see when she “pushes” it out. I dropped the first picture into my CAD software and assuming that the wheel are 15″ diameter the side walls are 5′-5″ or less, the handrail on the porch is 21″ high. Lovely to look at but in my estimation just stagecraft.

  2. This is very cool, but being towed by a Land Rover Defender? (towing capacity 7715 lbs.) Looks good but not very realistic.
