Self Reliance Expo

Self Reliance Expo
National Western Complex
Denver, Colorado

April 8-9, 2011

Ron Douglas, President of the National Self Reliance Organization and Show Producer of the Self Reliance Expo

Inspired by the Tiny House Blog I went on a search to bring examples of tiny homes to the expo. These homes can be built by yourself, ordered out of the box, or custom ordered to your specs. Entry point for some of these start at only $2000 for a ready to go Tiny House!

We have Tuff Shed setting up a “mountain retreat” home. These can be built to your specifications. The demo at the expo will have a full kitchen, solar power, solar heated windows, and rain collection tanks!

Mountain Event Tent also has an amazing setup. Their portable housing, with vinyl rip stop material, is perfect for quick setup scenarios. You can even get them in camouflage. These are designed to take a snow load and can be ordered with their insulated kits. Several different configurations are available.

We also have the Hoss Port Sheep Wagons. These are for those who want to be ultra portable. Just hook up your vehicle and go! Made for heavy use for long periods of time, they can be built to your specifications.

The Colorado Straw Bale Association will be there as well. COSBA is committed to expanding and sharing knowledge, experience and techniques for straw bale and sustainable building. COSBA promotes quality building practices and serves as a resource to building professionals and homeowners.

I really like the Hoss Port Sheep Wagons. It’s spacious enough and you can basically have almost all your necessities in there.

I am looking for a tiny or sustainable house expo in the US. Is there such a thing?
