Gabi wrote in to the the Small House Society and is looking for help finding $4500 dollars (via grant, donations or any other ideas) of the $9800, so that she can purchase the above home from Tortoise Shell Homes to live in while she does volunteer work 10 to 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

Gabi’s boss asked that I remove any reference to where she works, but I will let you know she is helping the critters in the picture below.

I told Gabi, I would post her request. If you are able to help please email Gabi at the following address:

Following is her original request posted on the list.

Hi!
I am not living in a tiny house yet, but I would like to purchase one.
I need help, and I don’t know who could help me. I am a mother of 3
little ones, I am also working on my PhD study. The tiny home was made
by Tortoise Shell Home, It’s a very cute little home on wheels.
I am 28 and I am working here more than 3 years. I came from Hungary,
just to work with gibbons, and learn more about them. I have been
living in trailers shared with other volunteers, and now I am living
in the office room. I would like to have a little space just for my
self, where I can work on my study or relax, to have my own bed, and a
table where I can work.

I love this little home, I could live in it many years.

I need help to get this home, I need a sponsor, or a grant.
I work very hard here, I work 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and I
love my job. The only thing I want a tiny home.

Thanks,
Gabi

Gabi, what a fun job. I will pass around your information to some animal groups I know. Have you tried Habitat for Humanity. Maybe they have a grant program. I know they give out interest free loans.

Gabi, Have you contacted any of your local churches? Many times church groups can raise money through doing meals, silent auctions, donations, etc., through youth groups or committees, especially if you would be willing to come and talk at their service. By doing this at several churches, you might easily and quickly get the money you need.

  3. Hi Gabi,

Best of luck on your fundraising efforts. I wanted to mention that used travel trailers might be a quicker and cheaper option for housing. Some of them can be very cute too!
