Shop for Rent to Build a Tiny House

Bill lives in Grass Range, Montana and has a 10,000 sq ft shop that would be the perfect place to construct a tiny house, out of the weather, and equipped with tools. It’s just off a major highway for easy access.

Bill would like to offer his shop to anyone who wants to build a tiny house but doesn’t have the place or tools to do so. You would need to supply the materials and labor. A rental fee of $400/mo. is what he is asking. You can contact Bill via email if interested at d0pfb@midrivers.com

  1. That would be ideal for about four folks to get together who each wanted to build a tiny house. Share the expense and share the labor…win/win!

  2. This is a great idea! Would the person renting the shop be able to live in there while they build? That would be cheap rent and would allow them to be building in the winter. Could you build more than one tiny house in that shop at the same time? Are there bathroom facilities in the shop?

  3. Thanks for the post, Kent! If you want to see the place; Google Maps, Grass Range MT, zoom to the junction of E 4th Street and Hwy 87. Use the street view tool and look to the northwest. It is a defunct truck stop. There’s plenty of room to camp and nearby cafe/bar and grocery store!

  4. You got it right, Kent! Thanks! Karen, there is plumbing in the building but it needs work. You could definitely build more than one at a time. Door width is 10′ and height 16′ which would accommodate any of the Tumbleweed designs. Floor area is close to 10,000 sq.ft. One bay has a floor lift. One small cabin has been built in there already and another(mine) is being worked on right now. Who’s next?

  5. This looks like a great place for someone to build a tiny house. Luckily I already have mine done. Having an enclosed area to work in would have made the summer and winter work easier for sure.
