FabCab is proud to partner with Shoreline Community College for NW SolarFest 2011 and will be displaying a 550 sq.ft. zero net energy demo home, complete with solar power. The unit is designed by FabCab and exemplifies Universal Design and green building practices. This demo home will be part of a student design practicum at Shoreline Community College in which students will learn about sustainable building practices culminating with the students assisting with the build process.

The demonstration home will be constructed at Shoreline Community College and will be on display July 16th 2011 at SolarFest and available for further viewing at SCC through August 2011. The unit will then be disassembled and transported to a buyer’s site and rebuilt.

The house will be on display July 16th at SolarFest:

Shoreline Community College
16101 Greenwood Avenue North
Shoreline, WA 98133-5696

Wow, not only sustainable and gorgeous, at 550 sf, might appeal to a much larger audience than some of the houses on wheels. Good on ya!

Thats actually a small house you could live in.
Fantastic design. Bored of the 8 foot wide trailer shelters.

The retirement cottages project In Port Townsend WA on their website looks interesting too. http://fabcab.com/2011/04/27/cottages-for-retirees/ more details at http://tenthstreetvillage.com/ No reason why something like this can’t be built for non-retirees as well.

I’m going to be in PDX Mid July and will have to drive north to check this out. I’m in love with the Seatle timber frame CabFab
