Claim Your “No Man’s Time”

Most people know the concept of “no man’s land”. This is an area of land that is unowned, unclaimed, or uninhabited. Historically it means that the land is under dispute and therefore belongs to no one.

Lately, with the world spiraling into a fair bit of chaos and stress, maybe there needs to be the concept of “no man’s time”.

Nearly every morning, I have found myself automatically waking up at 4:00 a.m.

While this seems to be an ungodly hour to wake up, I’ve found it to be very calming to the spirit. It’s still very dark, and cool and the only other beings up are the birds and roosters.

It’s a time that I have all to myself. No one else is up and about. No one can get hold of me, ask me for something, ring my doorbell, or call my cell. It’s a time for hot tea, reflection, and watching the sun rise and warmth the earth.

For me, the hours between 4:00 and 6:00 a.m. move slower than all the other hours of the day. It’s a time that is just for me and belongs to no other man (or woman).

Whether it’s 4:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., or midnight, find your own “no man’s time”. This will be a time where you can take an hour or several hours to reset your life and mental health.
