Find Parking for Your Van on Neighbor

If you have been living the vanlife and are struggling to find parking in a city or the suburbs, then take a look at Neighbor. Neighbor is an online service where hosts can advertise their storage areas or parking spaces for rent.

With service in all 50 states, Neighbor offers options to park your van, RV, or car for the short- or long-term. There are also options to park large or small equipment, garages for rent, or sheds to store belongings during a move.

Neighbor is a service that offers parking or storage spaces around the country.

To look for parking or storage space, Neighbor has a search option to input an address for a specific storage type. These types include self-storage, garages, monthly parking, and even boat storage. If you are hoping to live in your parked van, this can be found under monthly parking or long-term parking.

Some parking spots may allow you to live in your van.

A map and list of possible storage options will pop up. At this point, you can contact your chosen host directly and communicate about the rental space and whether or not you will be allowed to live in the space inside your vehicle.

One former vanlifer was able to do this in her van. Heather, the owner of the YouTube channel, My Way of Everything, used Neighbor to find a temporary place to park her van and live in it while she worked at a job in the same city.

Neighbor may be a good opportunity to find safe parking for a van or RV. The cost will depend on the location. Some rural or suburban parking areas that are uncovered can range from around $40-$60 per month. If you are in a major or popular city prices can go up to around $150-$300 per month depending on the parking space.
