Tiny House in a Landscape

Benjamin sent me this week’s Tiny House in a Landscape and shares with us the following:

“This is my summer residence. I help run the Mawaw Ceseniyah Language and Culture Center on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Wisconsin. Our name for ourselves is K??c Mam?ceqt?wak, which translates to the ancient movers (we traveled with the seasons in our territory which includes what is now Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois). This wekiam (wigwam/house) allows me to move to the lake in the summer for gardening, fishing, berry picking in late summer, etc., and also allows me to move to the wild rice beds in the fall.”

  1. My favorite year and style VW (I miss mine so much!). And with the tent attached? Perfection! It sounds like you fill the rest of your life with good things as well.

    • Never too late to start camping again……….the new cots and instant air mattresses make it easy. Just get a tent you can stand up in otherwise getting out in the morning can be tough 🙂

  3. Looks like a 70’s era Westfalia. I have a 1971 Westfalia (still in service). Bought in Spain from an Argentinian. Shipped between USA/Europe twice. Only 250,000 miles – still going strong. Lots of fun. Full of memories!

  4. Love it! We have a similar-vintage van (1978) with a very similar colour as well. We currently live in Toronto, and from here we have driven it to the Yukon, the Maritimes (twice) and the US northeast coast (NY, Boston, etc.). I’ve lived in it for as long as five weeks at a time and always feel weird coming back to a “normal” house.
