Tiny House in a Landscape

This weeks tiny house is a photo taken off of the coast of Uruguay. This little house is rather rundown, but I bet in its prime it was very nice. It is low slung in style, most likely in defense of the wind that is prominent in coastal areas. Uruguay enjoys a long coastline from the Atlantic border with Brazil, down to the mouth of Rie de la Plata, and up river to the border of Argentina.

I don’t have any photo credits so if any of our photo researchers can find out anything about this photo please let me know and I will post it on the blog.

Tiny House on the coast of Uruguay

  1. That looks like it could be in the “Rocha” area, towards the eastern side of the Uruguayan coast. There are plenty of these, mainly abandoned because in most cases they were illegal to build in the first place, but small affordable houses are a very common option for young families. Land in Uruguay is very cheap, but building is very expensive(specially labor costs)

  2. Hey, I´m from Uruguay. I can say that it probably be the coast of Rocha. The land is very cheap but building is not so expensive I think. That kind of house can cost not more than 3000 u$s.
It´s a beautiful pleace, but in winter is very windy and also cold. We don´t have snow but it´s very humid.
