Announcing the Black Tiny Home Festival
An exciting first-of-its-kind event is coming to Florida in February—the Black Tiny Home Festival. Like many other similar fests, they’ll showcase all different styles of tiny homes. Though this is for Black and Brown people and by them; importantly, all allies are welcome to attend. Their mission statement:
“The Black Tiny Home Festival is to bring together the community and show the representation of Black and Brown people in the “Tiny Homes on Wheels Movement”. To celebrate the creativity, ingenuity, and courage of Black and Brown people to live an alternative lifestyle. And to inspire those aspiring to this lifestyle the possibilities amongst people who look like them.”
The Black Tiny Home Festival will host informative lifestyle workshops, live performances, a Black-Owned Vendor Market, a nomad formal gala, and much more. Additionally, they are hosting a 4-day/3-night glamping meetup event at the St. Johns Fairgrounds in greater St. Augustine, Florida. If you need yet another reason to attend, see their event menu and meal plans for each day!
Keep in mind, that this is a part of a zero-waste initiative. Be sure to bring a cup! No single-use plastics will be allowed at this event. All food will be served on paper, compostable or biodegradable products.
Of note, the organizer of the festival is Star Quality Organizing run by Queen Tasha. It’s a professional organizing, event planning, and RV consultant company specializing in hosting events for the RV & Van Life Community including the Black Nomads Meetup and Juneteenth Nomad Celebration. She is also the founder of the Black Travel Tribe a community to support Black and Brown Nomads on their travel journey.
If you wish to volunteer or participate as a performer, speaker, or tiny homeowner, you can sign-up to participate on the Black Tiny Home Festival website. And for everyone else, tickets are now on sale!
