With more cities and municipalities allowing for the building of accessory dwelling units (ADUs), the demand for these tiny backyard homes is increasing quickly. One ADU company has plans to not only build in its native California, but to expand ADU living around the U.S.
Anchored Tiny Homes builds studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom ADUs.
Anchored Tiny Homes is located in the Sacramento Valley, but is already franchising the business in other cities such as Austin, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah and Bend, Oregon.
The company has franchised the business in several cities around the nation.
Owner, Colton Paulhus and his team build these tiny onsite homes a bit more on the larger side. At 600 to 800 square feet, the little houses have enough room to fit a couple or small family. The homes cost around $185,000 to build in an existing home’s backyard.
The finished homes include all appliances and finishes.
Paulhus offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom models with many floor plans to choose from. He also offers custom ADUs. To keep costs down and to accommodate different abilities, they are all one story and may include a loft.
The little homes also include all finishes such as quartz countertops, appliances, cabinets, mini splits, and luxury vinyl flooring. The homes also come with a lifetime composite shingle roof.
