Pine Top Holiday Decorations
Back at the first of December I invited you to share your photos of decorating your tiny house for the holidays. Today I will share six different posts that were sent to me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I am. I also want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Well we did a few things to our homestead, including adding a shop building for me to our place and added a raised area for parking for a future carport area. We continue to build as we go. I’ve taken some time to decorate for our first holiday season in the new place. I added some lighting to the front of the house and added two holiday solar lights to our carved bears of our entrance. Yes, I carved those.

Actually, that’s what I do for a living. I’m a full time chainsaw carving artist and do carvings of all sizes. Like tiny houses I love doing tiny bears that make perfect gifts as well. I attached a sample photo of one that is a black bear I do that can decorate any tiny home. He is only 12″ tall and 8″ wide. I will soon have a page folks can visit to see my work. I do every carving one at a time and each one is different making it a true piece of rustic art.
Becky and I love our homestead here in the Ozarks. We wish you and yours a very happy holiday season.

Update – Travis sent me some more interior photos -Kent
Travis and Becky and their Pine Top Homestead is our first featured “Small House.”
Travis and Becky spent the last year planning and building their tiny home on 3 acres in the Ozark Mountains. Travis says, “We absolutely love it, best thing we ever did. It’s 12′x18′ with a 6′x12′ sleeping loft for a total of a whopping 288 sqft. It’s just us two and our small dog and we find it very comfortable and useable for us two.”
I’m going to turn it over to Becky and let her tell you a bit about the construction of their home.

The land was the right deal at the right time and we could see the potential it had for our dreams of a tiny homestead. We weren’t sure when we would be able to build our own tiny home, so we purchased a little pre-built cabin to enjoy on our land as we did some clearing. Continue Reading »
Tiny House in a Landscape
This weeks Tiny House in a Landscape was photographed along the Buffalo River in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. I like the way the cabin is framed by the rocks and how it perches above the river.
The Buffalo River offers both swift-running water and placid stretches. Buffalo River – National Park Headquarters is located in the park’s gateway city of Harrison, Arkansas.
Making the Most of a Small Home
Kerri Fivecoat-Campbell who has been guest writing for the Tiny House Blog interviewed me about the tiny house movement and the blog back in July for a Mother Earth News article she was writing. Kerri’s article recently was published in the latest issue of Mother Earth News Magazine and the Tiny House Blog is mentioned it it. Thank you Kerri!
Kerri and her husband Dale live in a small 480 square foot house. The house is located in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains on Bull Shoals Lake. They built the little house as a retreat but it’s now their full-time home.
You can view Kerri’s blog at Living Large In Our Little House and read the complete article in Mother Earth News.
