Celebrating 13 Years of Tiny House Magazines

In January 2013, the first issue of Tiny House Magazine was published. Thirteen years and 157 issues later, we are thankful to begin another year of publication.

It all started as a way to cover the growing tiny house movement–in a magazine format with very few distracting advertisements—available through Apple’s app platform and as a PDF to read on your personal computer.

It quickly found its voice by providing a home for people in the modern tiny house movement, including DIYers and builders, retirees, and small families, while sharing tips on downsizing and exploring the possibilities small houses offer in reshaping our urban landscapes.

Tiny House Magazine has been blessed with many talented contributors. We appreciate them for sharing real-life experiences and lessons learned while living in a tiny space.

I also want to give a big thank-you to our content editor, Andrew Odom, who finds these contributors, stories, and tips; follows up with them; edits the writing; gathers photos and links; and then hands everything off to me for final assembly and publication. Without him, the quality and consistency of this magazine would not exist.

To another year, 2026!
