Couple Alyson and Tim live in a cute, cat-friendly tiny house in northern Texas. They ditched condo life in the city for simple living at the peaceful Namastay Hideaway tiny home community. All the household, including two cats, has loved the change of pace and access to nature.
Alyson and Tim customized their 340-square-foot house on wheels to meet their needs, including spacious counters for baking and a comfy gaming setup. For their two cats, they added a 360 catwalk setup. This enables them to easily run, play, and lounge across their entire home. Additional cat-friendly tiny house features include the toybox cubby in the storage stairs.
“It’s never boring in here because we have catwalks all around the tiny. They can do a 360 runaround, a total run around the entire wall of the house. It’s a perfect space for them. (The custom layout) really focuses on environment design for us and for our fur babies.” -Tim, @attinyhouse
Further, Alyson and Tim wanted to provide a safe opportunity for their fur babies to enjoy the outdoors. First, they added a cat door so the cats could go in and out as desired. Then, they purchased a weather-proof catio kit from Amazon. It sits on their deck. Good news! The cats love spending time outside. As Alyson shares, the ability to place the litter box on the deck is another much-appreciated benefit of the catio. Say goodbye to foul smells and mess inside their tiny home!
