Tiny Homes for Camp Fire Survivors

In November of 2018, the most destructive, deadly fire in Californian history swept through Butte County. It hit the hardest in the towns of Paradise, Concow, and Magalia. As a result, almost 12,000 homes were destroyed. In May, an estimated 1,000 plus families still haven’t been able to secure even temporary housing.

Now a group of dedicated volunteers is building fully-functional tiny homes on wheels for Camp Fire Survivors; led by Alyssa Nolan-Cain. Her tragic experience losing her own home in a fire 11 years ago, inspired her to organize this effort. Though she has no construction knowledge, she has a built a growing community of volunteers and donors.

Individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and faith-based groups are joining together. Most importantly, they are building quality, safe tiny homes for all those in need.  To date, Alyssa’s group has given away two tiny homes with several more currently underway.
