Blossman Tiny House Powered Totally by Propane

Blossman Gas is the eighth largest propane company in the United States and they have just built a 152 sq. ft. tiny house powered completely by propane. The house was developed as a propane education tool and is now on a 73 store community tour in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S.

The THOW has two 40 gallon propane tanks to run the twelve propane appliances: two space heaters, a Briggs & Stratton generator, an outdoor light, Procom fireplace, Whirlpool range, refrigerator and dryer, Rinnai tankless water heater, and outdoor heater, fire pit, and portable grill by Napoleon. The total cost to build the Blossman house was $30,000.

According to Blossman propane is used by more than 1.6 million U.S. households for zone heating, water heating, cooking, fireplaces, and drying clothes. Tiny homes are no exception, most mobile tiny home owners choose to use propane for at least cooking and heating.

During the tour, Blossman employees offer propane tips, answer questions and talk about the benefits of propane as a clean fuel and heat source. The house will also be featured at community festivals, home shows, store open houses and other events.

  1. Come on people, can’t you read? The generator is powered by Propane and provides the power to have a light and TV and any other item to make it a home. Geez!

  3. I feel like this needs to be clarified…blossman did not actually build the tiny house. The house was built my by dad in Tennessee. Blossman bought it and modified it with the propane appliances. I just feel like they shouldn’t get credit for “building” it if they really didn’t.

  4. I did not know that most mobile homes are propane-powered. One of my neighbors told me that he would like to get a mobile home so that he can use it as his man cave. I will suggest to him to make sure that where he parks it, he can get propane gas delivered to always have heat in it.

  5. My brother wants to spend some time this year building his own tiny home. He doesn’t know the best way to heat the space though so it’s good to know propane is an option. I never realized nearly 2 million people use propane to heat their homes.
