If you are looking for the perfect tiny floating home, take a look at berkeley-engineering’s Cape Codder. Built with a 10 foot beam and either 20 or 24 foot length this cool little home is neat to look at and very practical and easy to build.
The Cape Codder is the result of many requests for a liveaboard/cruising houseboat. The Cape Codder makes it possible to have you own private waterfront home.
The Cape Codder is a home. It has a couch and end tables, a diningroom set, a complete galley and a head with a shower and toilet! There is plenty of cupboard and drawer space. The inside ladder leads up to the sleeping loft, which has room for full sized mattresses and more storage space. The forward wall opens up to enjoy your own private sundeck. A roof skylight lets you sleep under the stars.

You buy the plans and construct it yourself or have someone build it for you. You would need to contact them for an estimate as they don’t have that information available on their site.
The roofline in the photos looks different than the plan.

Had the pleasure of having a Cape Codder 28 built by Berkley and his son Mike.
The Jodi-k named after my daughter Jodi and granddaughter Kalin,
has a 11′ beam and is 28’8″ in length. She was build along side the Cape Codder 24. pictured above and launched in Jan 2000.
Both Cape Codder bottoms were sprayed with Line X truck bed liner, and have yet to be hauled out since there launching 9 1/2 years ago!

Hi I was wondering what are the floats made out of? Is this a pontoon boat platform it has been built on? Has any one considered making it larger. I could go as big as 20X40 for my particular situation. This would make it a double loft and potentially put a bedroom on the first floor.
