Tumbleweed Whidbey Plans Sale
Sale Over!
Steve at Tumbleweed just notified me of another plan they are listing at a special sale price. The Whidbey, which has been in there book but never on their website has been redone like the Bodega which was offered for Sale in March. (Sale ends Wednesday March 31)
The Whidbey is Tumbleweed’s largest single story house. The front bedroom is wrapped with windows, and their is an option for a second bedroom at the back of the house.
The Whidbey has plenty of loft space, a full kitchen with a dishwasher and washer / dryer combo.
The estimated material costs are $35,000 for the 1 bedroom (461 square feet) and $41,500 for the 2 bedroom (557 square feet).
The Whidbey plan is on sale for $299 through the end of April, normally $695. Sale Over! Click here to view more details

now this is cute.
Front bedroom and/or great room dimensions are incorrect – they can’t possibly be the same.
Hi Cora, I’ve got Steve looking into that. It seems to be an error on the floor plan but I will let you know once it is verified.
Why are the plans for these houses SO expensive? Anybody with any kind of architectural know how can draw these up for nothing.
I dunno about that — it takes a lot of ingenuity and talent to make things fit in a small space. Goodness knows I’ve tried drawing my dream small house, but get frustrated making everything fit!
Dear Mimi:
What is for sale here: are not the plans (drawings), but the ideas and creative talent of the designer or architect.
Maybe what you see is a lack of talent
I’m glad to see slightly larger houses featured on this blog from time to time. Don’t get me wrong — I love the tiny house idea, but for me small houses are a lifestyle, not a vacation or second or moveable home. So plans like this one are much more useful for my ideas. Thanks!
