I’m currently 20 years old and in pastry school. Im located right outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I started my journey by buying a used RV that I demolished and saved the trailer underneath.
Then I started building my home and my uncle came up with the plans for me. As being a pastry chef I needed and wanted a large kitchen, so I made that a main priority. My home is eight foot by twenty-four feet. I have a stair case with a large living room which will also have a projector, as I don’t want to mount a TV, because I don’t want to make the TV the center point of my home. My room will be in the loft. Right now the loft isn’t complete. My plan is to move into my house around the end of April. The bathroom will have a stand up shower sink and composting toilet. The front of the house once I move it will have a deck attached to it.
In my build I used as much recycled and reclaimed items as I could. My windows, siding, house wrap, wooden crates, bathroom door, outdoor light fixtures, are all reclaimed items.
I wanted to build a tiny house to get away from the crazy stressful life that many people that I know live. Also to have the freedom of being debt free and not being overwhelmed with big payments. Since I’m a pastry chef for my career I don’t know how much I’ll make or where I’ll end up but a tiny house gives the freedom to not worry about that because I can bring it anywhere with me.
I will be graduating college this year, and my plan is to to travel and see the world, and see other cultures in person. Once I move in I would like to start full time YouTubing baking and cooking videos in my tiny house and show others how it can be done.
Thanks for letting me share my story.
