I thought you might enjoy these images of my little curved wall tiny house my daughter and I built in our back yard here in North Carolina.
Given the romantic setting and excessive glazing I figured a loud door bell might be appropriate… the door post makes a good place to lean my kayak paddle on my way back from the river.
The chimney vent has a crushed brass mesh core that includes a short section of rope light connected to a touch dimmer remote wired to a copper tray next to the door. Touch the tray once and the light comes on dim, three taps sets it to bright and one more turns it off. A wall switch just wouldn’t have fit the vibe. All wiring is concealed, the chimney just magically glows when you touch the tray.
This chair draws me after work or after a run on the creek. it’s nice to just sit and look down from the edge of the rocks. No Facebook. Turtles, heron, young fox cub, the call of the kingfisher, cicadas and bull frogs. a copper tray keeps my beverage upright on the rocks.
