Tiny House Magazine Issue 17

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remind me of how special the tiny house community is. It is hard to believe that just about four years ago Crystal and I were little more than another couple hoping to build a cute house. Since then we have amassed some great friends, had a number of special opportunities, and seen our dream come to fruition. It wasn’t without help though. I would need more than just one issue of THM to list all the people that helped with our tiny house in areas from emotional support and prayer to actual hours spent building. It was a true community effort. And it just so happens that much of this issue is about just that topic: community.

From Laura LaVoie we get a great recap on the first ever Tiny House Conference held this past March in Charlotte, NC. The conference brought together some of the best-known names in the tiny house world while allowing the introduction of the freshest faces.

Ethan Waldman contributes an article that is “trial by fire,” if you will, in which he breaks down the pros and cons of his personal use of the ever-popular Dickinson propane heater.

We are introduced to two of the newest members of the tiny house community with the Just Right Bus and its story so carefully told by Kelly Ross.

As always it has been my pleasure to work this month with Kent on what I consider to be the most accurate version of the beautiful community the tiny house world presents. Enjoy dear readers!
