Tiny House in a Landscape

somewhere in Finland

This weeks Tiny House in a Landscape I found while searching for cabins in the woods. All I could find out about this one is that it is from somewhere in Southern Finland. I can’t seem to find out anything more.

So you photo detectives please go find out for me as I am probably posting someone’s copyrighted photo. I would like to at the least give the photographer’s name and credit his/her work with a link if possible.

I love the setting and the little cottage. I could live there quite peacefully. How about you?

Anyway to reach the photographer who took the shot? It could be the basis of a nice painting. HS

Beautiful photo. In the Scandinavian countries, folks in the city often have a small cottage in the country — a hut[ hoot ] — where they can escape on weekends and holidays.

You can use Google Images to search for an image and its creator.

BTW, in many of the photography circles I participate in the posting of copyrighted images and content is a hot button issue right now. Giving credit or links isn’t enough to protect yourself from a lawsuit.

I highly recommend reading this: 🙂

Thank you Deidra. I will check that out and be more careful.

I’m a photographer/graphic designer and agree it’s a touchy subject. My favorite resource when I’m building websites or videos is Morguefile(dot)com. Sounds macabre, but it’s not! You’ll love it, trust me. Another one that just popped up is Unsplash(dot)com, whose beautiful, hi-res photos are CC0, which means “Creative Commons Zero”. All the photos submitted can be used for any purpose! Hope you find that useful. Cheers!

Thank you Steven for the advice and resources. I will check them out and use them in the future.

If it were the law of the land that someone-somebusiness, whatever, must always specifically request permission to reuse your content this issue would be solved fairly. Make it illegal for the so-called ‘privacy policies’ to eliminate your rights to your intellectual property.

I can’t sell my product using a brand name or image I have no right to, it should swing both ways.

This is breathtaking – I could there happily ever after and my retrievers (passed on now) would have loved having the water so close! I am curious now as to the inside.

After reading the comments, I nearly died from laughter.

Obviously some of the readers have never been to Finland or they would not be so tempted to occupy that tranquil cottage on the edge of swamp.

The swarms of mosquitos are as bad if not worse than in Alaska and Minnesota. Thousands of Finns moved to northern Minnesota because it was so much “Like Home”. Lakes, leaches, and cold-hardy mosquitos abound.

Good to know I wasn’t the only one thinking that! At first glance the only thing I could think was, “Mosquitoes!!”. Perhaps it takes knowing northern Minnesota to make the connection. 🙂

Cute, but too close to the water for my taste. I think “flooding”! I’d love to see the insides, will check the links…

Would live, love, love!

JC Bayer - February 8, 2014 Reply

I also think “mosquitos.”

Sqeila - February 8, 2014 Reply

I could live there….. “Good Lord willing and the water don’t rise.”

Yes. About the mosquitoes. I live a few hundred km south of this place. If you are near or in a forest, katy bar the door. Just the way things are… I choose to build away from forests. If I were in Kansas, I would search for the trees. Here you avoid them, and are rewarded with the stars.
