I love your blog. Absolutely brilliant. I have a friend name David who moved to a yurt years ago in Hamilton, Ontario. I was so impressed by his decision to make a yurt his permanent dwelling that I made a documentary about it. Let me know what you think. Here is a trailer: www.roadslesstraveled.tv/trailer. Let me know what you think? I'm looking to transfer to an unconventional lifestyle of my own. How do people find living in tiny houses? Any advice? I'm interested.

Uploading photos of the yurt I built in my backyard, for relocation into a high forest lot when I find one.

Got the Colorado 27 ft diameter yurt top and canvas liner for $500 on eBay auction.

The wood was from a mobile home addition that was only two years old and never painted, as a favor to someone and I kept the wood.

About $500 in brackets and screws and paints.

Can insulate the roof and the walls, extend the 5 ft walls to 7 feet and add in a three quarter loft to bring interior space to 900 sf!

Metta to all.

These look sweet! I lived in a 17' octagon (with loft) for a year at Breitenbush - was one of my favorite houses! & for several months in a cloth yurt, made by one of the staff members! That was a bit larger, & so nicely laid out!
thanks for sharing this
