Even in Cali- heck, even in NYC! - $600 a month for 10 X 12 with NO facilities or running water is a lot to ask! I think it's illegal in some states, to 'live' in something without a toilet and/or running water unless for camping or temporary shelter - am I correct? Now...tuck in a little 3 X 3 'closet' with a compost potty setup, and install running water from a small sink either IN the same closet or from a kitchen sink tap, would make all the difference in the world. You don't have to be deprived completely of every modern facility to 'live tiny'. THIS is not 'tiny', it's barebones! To me it's really not much better than living in a TENT, just has a little more 'solid' to the floor, walls and roof... I'm out... lol I agree.
