Since 2010 tiny housers have been building and living all over the Southeast region. From the La Petite Maison of Sicily Kolbeck to Dan Louche of Tiny Home Builders in DeLand, Florida to my wife and I and our Tiny r(E)volution, there has been a growing presence of tiny houses south of the Mason-Dixon. In fact, just this spring a new celebration of tiny arose.
In its first outing, the 2016 Georgia Tiny House Festival turned out to be a premiere event honoring and celebrating the tiny and micro house movement resonating throughout the East Coast and Southern states, as thousands of tiny house advocates converged on Eatonton, Georgia for an incredible weekend!
Since that inaugural event another festival has been planned in Georgia for 2017 and one has been announced for St. Augustine, FL in November 2016. Hosted by the The United Tiny House Association (originally the Georgia Tiny House Association), the event will take place Nov. 18 – Nov. 20 and feature a number of notable speakers including keynote addresses by Deek Diedricksen (Relaxshacks.com) and Andrew M. Odom (Tiny r(E)volution) both. Watch the announcements below:
This year there will be on-site camping at the St. John’s County Fair Grounds at the Florida event for those with tents, RVs, and traditional campers.
