Tiny House in a Landscape

This week I thought I would share a tiny house in a landscape that I was lucky to visit last weekend at a workshop in Tennessee. I attended one of Deek’s workshops held at Tiny Happy Homes sometimes know as Tennessee Tiny Homes and owned by Joe Everson.

This little home is approximately 12 x 18 and built on a foundation. Joe’s sister and daughter live in it. It is one of several tiny/small homes located on the property where Joe builds and sells tiny houses.

Many of you want interior photos of the Tiny House in a Landscape photos and this time since I was there I was able to get a few and I have included them. You can see more of Joe’s work if you are on Facebook by clicking this link.

  1. I like it. I need a little more space – for guests. and the ladder, I was a carpenter for years but as I age I worry about getting into a loft. I couldn’t now but that’s from a car backing over me.

  2. I wonder what that leaning tube in the kitchen picture, between the refrigerator and the wall with the doorway, might be? I’d like a house that looks like this but is about 50% larger (maybe 650 sf) so it would feel more open, but that’s only me.

Winters are not always balmy in TN, I’d like to know more about heating/cooling options and insulation in these houses that are posted where possible, please.

    • I did not see a ‘leaning tube’ next to the refrigerator. When I looked closer, I saw s shower curtain with some type of stitched trimwork on it. This curtain was folded back into the corner space between the fridge and bath area.

  3. Thank you for sharing the interior of your home with us, I love your color choices. A nice roomy kitchen, and intelligent (movable) furniture choices. Congrats to you for making this choice to scale down.
This kitchen also gives a great idea for placement options, as I always hate walking in a house and getting an eyeful of a messy sink and countertops. (Not that this homeowner looks remotely messy!)
And for Carol S, I believe the leaning “tube” is a heavy curtain drawn back from the doorway 🙂
    Great little house!

  4. Wow, I just found your site from a YouTube video – We The Tiny House People – and it’s absolutely AWESOME 🙂

I’m fascinated by tiny houses (I currently live in a relatively small apartment in Bangkok, Thailand and have been happily living in 34 square meters for 11 years now — me and the 3 rabbits I own 🙂

In the next couple of years I’m hoping to move to Spain and will likely look for a small studio apartment to live in. Your site will give me tons of ideas, so I’ll be coming back all the time.

Keep up the good work 🙂

  5. I remember few years ago I went to Malaysia and we stayed at a tiny little house like this one. Such a cute place to live in. But I’m afraid I can’t stay in a tiny house permanently as I need more space for my day to day work. But such a different experience to live for few days. 🙂
