This weeks Tiny House in a Landscape was so popular that two people sent it to me within a couple of days. It is called “The Colonel’s Cottage” -1865 and was found on Shorpy.com.

1865. Petersburg, Virginia. “Cottage of Col. Nathaniel Michler, U.S. Engineers, at Bryant house.” From photographs of the main Eastern theater of war, the siege of Petersburg, June 1864-April 1865. Wet plate glas negative.

    Cute as a button!

I’m not even sure that skirt could fit through the doorway!

Wow! The cottage and its occupants seem to be in great shape after 150 years. I’ll have what they’re having.

I love how the ladies were able to hold still for the photo, but the toddler was in motion. Some things never change, eh?
