Tiny House in a Landscape

This peaceful scene was photographed somewhere in Vietnam. I really like all the shades of green foliage that surround this small dwelling. Water next to a home also encourages a quiet and peaceful place.

As always if you know more about this photo such as who the photographer was or the exact location, please comment below and I will update the post accordingly.

What a lovely serene place. Gee I sure would love living in that cute hideaway. I really like it.

AHHHH, That there, IS WHAT I’m building next & my last home. A small home in a Japanese setting. A lot less landscaping work once it is in. I don’t want any lawn to mow. I had a lot of Japanese Landscaping before, Including a 12′ x 17′, 4′ deep(I swam in it) Koi pond in a totally Japanese back yard, tied Bamboo fencing, green moss “lawn” & all. You do have to vacuum or sweep it!

Ponds are a lot of work, so I guess I’ll have to forget the pond.

That’s part of the Katsura Imperial Villa, in Kyoto, Japan. You’ll find a similar view of this in the Wikipedia article, in the gallery section.

I should have added, “Japan, Vietnam, it’s all the same.”

Just kidding of course. It’s actually almost 2,000 miles from Kyoto, Japan to the nearest point of Vietnam!

Ooh, it looks like something out of a fairytale!

Maybe it’s in Italy. That looks like the Leaning Tree of Pisa next to it.

Seriously though, … It doesn’t appear “small” to me.

Your mention that it didn’t seem too small got me curious. Below are links to some architectural analysis of the building I found. I took the floor plan drawing that is found here and input it into AutoCad to take some measurements. I adjusted the scale to match the scale on the drawing, then traced the outside walls of the structure (leaving out what appeared to be exterior deck areas. The result is that, overall, the building measures approximately 10.5 by 10.5 meters (about 34.5 by 34.5 feet), and the area enclosed by exterior walls is approximately 87 square meters – 935 square feet. Not really small, and certainly not tiny.

  7. I guess I blew it on the size, thanks for correcting me, some of the photos people have sent me the houses are not always as tiny as I would like but the scenery is outstanding. I’ll try to do better next time…

That photo puts the “Z” in Zen. Incredible scenery. Truthfully, the fauna is so incredibly beautiful, I didn’t even notice the house!

  9. That’s absolutely stunning!! Thank you for posting this.
