Tiny House in a Landscape

This is a beautiful setting with the little white house sitting along side the lake that is reflecting both the mountains and the sky. The lake is so peaceful it makes you want to just sit and reflect in one of the little boats rocking peacefully on the water.

This appears to be an artists rendition so I’m not sure if this is a real location but I sure would enjoy spending some time in a place like this. If you know where this might be located I’m open to suggestions.

    Hello Ken,

I did a search using TinEye, http://www.tineye.com/, a reverse image search engine, and came up with 61 results, some if which were dead ends. However one site showed the location, photographer, date etc., http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/mypics/671799/display/7126369

It is a real location in Norway, near Hjelle.

Thanks Hugh, I was not familiar with that tool and most of the photos I put up for this feature have been passed on to me by readers and usually don’t have any information. I’ll put this tool in my toolbox and hopefully be more informative with future posts.

Full disclosure: I work with PicScout. In reading this post and seeing this wonderful, breathtaking photograph, I want to note that if you’re looking for ownership and licensing use the PicScout ImageExchange tool which credits every image in the PicScout ImageIRC, and there are tens of millions of them. You can install ImageExchange: http://imageexchange.picscout.com/interest.php and every time you encounter or search for an image, if it’s registered it will be identified with ownership and equipped with real-time click-through to transact to use it. ImageExchange can always help, and it’s not random as in the noted reverse search example.

    Hi…

That might be Norway ur looking at. Many places in Norway look that way.

The photo style is called an HDR, or a High Dynamic Range photo. It is composed of three or more photos at different exposures. It brings a surreal feeling to the photo.

How blissful. I’d love to live there.

No matter how the picture was taken, I just have to say WOW. What an ideal! I would love to breathe in that air….

I used TinEye as well — it’s a neat tool. Here is the photographer’s portfolio on photo.net:

TinEye is a pretty useful tool. It might be especially useful to see where the pictures come from that you’re posting on here, since almost all of them are covered by copyright law, and posting them on here without permission of the owner is a violation of copyright laws!

    • Kent Griswold says:

Very good point Josh and I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. I’ll try to figure out how it works as most people just send me the jpg and I don’t know where it came from. Than I can get permission or not to use it.

      • Josh says:

Well, it’s probably not a big deal, and most of the photographers probably would be glad to give you permission to use their photographs the way you do. Technically though, it’s illegal without permission. I bring it up because I looked up one of your pictures a while back and found it on a site where it had been posted by someone who had many professional photos posted on their account without permission from the original photographers. There was a lengthy and heated discussion forum about that user violating the site’s terms of service, and violating copyright laws by posting photos they didn’t own. Even though you’re not doing any real harm, I always cringe a little when I see photographs posted online somewhere when I’m sure they don’t own rights to or have permission for the photos.

    Oh my God!
It’s a real place? If yes, how about “A QUARTER OF HEAVEN”?
    Can I live there?

My first thought that it was a bad Photoshop job. Since apparently it is not, I go with my second thought — it’s creepy looking!

  12. alice says:

It certainly looks either high altitude or high latitude(or both)and definitely a place that would get ‘weather’. That said, it’s a marvellous vista.

  13. Russ says:

It is beautiful. I have a dream that I will live next to a mountain lake some day, in my tiny house of course. Untill then, I have a new desk top background. Very nice photo, well done. Thank you Kent.

    It’s a photomatrix photo.

But whether the photo was manipulated or not….
It IS beautiful. And it is nice knowing there is someplace that beautiful on earth.

Norway is a visually stunning country.
It makes me want to take a trip! :D
