I was hiking up this mountain to reach a paragliding launch in order to fly back down when I came across this interesting tiny house in a landscape.

The little house, well camouflaged among the rocks, was built from local materials and is in Croatia.

Biokovo is the second-highest mountain range in Croatia, located along the Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic Sea, between the rivers of Cetina and Neretva. You can learn more about the area here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biokovo.

Thanks Peter Jennings for sharing this photograph with us.

    Maybe a shepherd’s home?

This is really beautiful! Blends perfectly with its surroundings. I’m not sure but it appears to maybe have been built fairly recently?

I think stone or rock homes are extremely neat.

I love that paragliding was involved in your discovery!

My dream is to have no mortgage = more money to do stuff like paraglide!!

Wow! Talk about utilizing your local resources!!

Look at the stone table as well! It’s just great.

  7. This looks similar to mountain climber’s shelters I have seen (and slept in) in the Cascades. Usually very simple, and built from the most abundant thing to be found at altitude: Rocks!
