Brian spotted this on Craigslist and then it was removed. I grabbed the pictures early on and he had snagged the copy. It may still be available but I’m not sure. It is really a cool little home though maybe a little expensive for most. Here is the description and some great photos of the barge.

A great looking house, and a nice price too. Bet it goes fast.

Absolutely beautiful. I’m going to save this design.

I love it! I bet it would look lovely on wheels or sitting in a lovely field as well! I too would love to see what is beyond the fireplace wall – a bedroom and bath?
~~~ Great Tiny Boat House !!!!
The houseboat was available as a listing on the MLS for quite some time (at a slightly higher price- closer to 100k I think).
There are quite a few houseboats for sale near where I live (South Lake Union area of Seattle), and some are really quite cute.
This is lovely, but I also want to see the bath and bedroom! I think that might be where the advertised closet space is. It would be nice to know if those dinette benches or bed have storage under them.
If there is decent storage, I could so live here…
Very Cool :O)
That price would be prohibitive for most folks. Even when you like “tiny,” like all of us, $100k is not at all cost effective or efficient for that size home. I really like the use of space for the kitchenette – that is way cool – and I love the lodge ambiance it exuded but, where was the shower?
Awesomesauce. 😉
This is beautifully made! I’m curious…how much are moorage fees in Seattle for a houseboat this size? Does it cost more for houseboats than for boats?
Where was the hull made?
Seems as the hulls may be home made plywood glassed over see this site at Glen-L for similar hull plans Huck Finn and Super Huck Finn among the houseboat plans
Where did you get all of that teak? Can you certify it was plantation grown and not illegally harvested?
I just paid a small fortune for one 2×10 teak plank to finish restoration of my all-teak Chinese Junk circa. 1900. I was told it was a piece left over from Lynn and Larry Pardey’s boat. It is illegal to bring small amounts of teak lumber into US now. It has to come in as completed furniture, etc. One dealer said he could get some if he ordered at least 1000 board feet. I’m sure the teak makes up a very large portion of the cost of this boat. And it is beautiful! I’d love to have it, but I’m on the East Coast.
What kind of license do you need to keep it on the water with no motor? property taxes? Anything in that line?
Need a guest house?
