Small Cabin for Sale in Texas

***Sold*** Cathy Warren contacted me recently and wanted to let me know that she needs to sell a small cabin in Zavalla, Texas (eastern Texas, zip 75980) as soon as possible and is willing to part with it at a bargain price.

The cabin is not tiny but is small at 1000 square feet. A 3 bedroom, 2 story built in 2006. Located on 15 beautiful acres. Cathy also says the land has a creek next to this parcel.

Located in Angelina National Forest and eight miles to a lake. It is private and convenient. 2 and 1/2 miles from city limits. The cabin needs septic put in, also needs some paint on the porch and deck and some TLC.

The cabin has solar power, a solar well and is also connected to the grid for power. It has a jacuzzi bathtub, granite bathroom, solid pine doors, solid pine floors, dual pane glass windows,

The cabin and 15 acres are for sale for $98,000 and you can contact Cathy at ***Sold*** and leave a clear detailed message and she will get back to you.

  1. That’s a pretty cool little house, too bad it’s all the way in TX. LOL. I’ve been wanting to have a small home, but can’t wrap my head around how a family could live in one..since a majority is single dwellings, or couples…I’d love to see some post on families. Is it even possible?
By the way, I enjoy reading this blog, it’s one of my faves & I follow on FB too. I wanted to pass on the Sunshine Award from my blog to you!

  2. Hey lilgamoma. I’m buying a Mackydoo tiny house from Scott Stewart to live in during the summer with my 4 kids when we go see family. With this many of us, no one wants us to visit for long- ha!- so I thought it would be the perfect solution for us now, and good housing option for my daughter who will be starting college in a few more years. As far as sleeping arrangements, we’ll have a king size mattress in the loft and a daybed with a trundle in the main living area. As far as just general personal “space”… that I’ll have to wait and see about. Since we’ll be mostly using it in the summer for now, the kids can run and play outdoors. Winters might be tougher. I think for a whole family to live in a tiny house year round, you have to be able to live with a minimal amount of things and then have the courage to get rid of the rest of else find a place to store the sentimental things. However, it’s definitely possible. I had a friend in high school whose family wasn’t too well off, and she and her parents and 2 siblings all lived in a camper trailer and made it work. I guess it boils down to what you’re willing to do or what you have to do.

  4. I’m very interested in the house and property.
My wife and I live SW of Houston in the country.
Lately we have been talking of moving farther from the city and to a higher ground area. Since we’re renting it’s a matter of deciding where. It’s just the 2 of us and 3 dogs who would love the space.

  5. Yes a family CAN live in a tiny/small home. Check out the home I lived in when I was growing up. Go to picnicsforpets.com and click on the products link. There were 4 of us living in a 10 X 54 mobile home. This home has wood floors, walls and ceilings – not reconstituted wood shavings & was built in 1959. *smile* I will be putting more pictures up in a couple of weeks showing the interior. But to live “small” you can’t be a pack rat or a collector. But I love it! It will be available for short term rentals close to the holidays. It’s located in Federal Heights CO. I also own the land. Any questions contact me via the web site on picnicsforpets.com. God bless!!!
