Does anyone know of something like this that could be used as an alternative for living in a dorm at college? My dad bought a prebuilt home (like the ones u see for sale on the side of the highway that have to be transported by an eighteen wheeler) and had it placed on campus when he went to college. I was hoping to do the same and this looks like a great concept.

Here is a shelter that packs flat, is portable, and self-sufficient. Would be great at Burning Man as well as the mines in Australia. It is hard walled and sets up in about 1 hour. Includes electrical system with solar panels, lights, battery, smoke & CO2 alarms, ventilation fan, floor, window and locking door.

Great technology and a comfortable shelter - Flexayurt from HOMErgent.

This would be great at Burning Man!

Packs down nice for easy transport, and can be used year after year.

Gives a good view from the top floor and is run on renewable energy.

I want one or two!

Hi Carey - I believe that this is just a concept at this time. I will do some more research and see if I can find anything more about it.
