Tiny House in a Landscape

This week’s Tiny House in a Landscape is a studio loft over a garage. It was built by Pickell Architecture in Flemington, New Jersey.

I like the unique design and how it blends in with the trees in the background. A great way to utilize space and make a single garage into a tiny home.

Passive solar design, completely finished walls inside with low VOC paint, kitchen “area” with refrigerator, chair/pull-put couch, high-value rigid board insulation ( ceiling is double insulated! so it is heats up great in the winter and stays cool in the summer) and comes with the gold standard heater for tiny homes: Newport-Dickinson P900 fireplace propane heater.

I did not put plumbing in on purpose so to not have any problem with zoning and it worked out great! Kitchen is all electrical. You could add plumbing or use main house as support OR use a luxurious outdoor bathroom as I did!

The house has plenty of light and air. Now that it has been tested for warmth in the coldest seasons of the east coast, you could add more windows, but it has plenty of light as it is!

$25,000 Or BEST OFFER

Please call or e-mail (only if you are seriously interested in purchasing the unit) equityedu@aol.com OR 831-227-5976. The house is located in central New Jersey. Appointments must be scheduled to see the tiny house.

Tiny House Blog Copy Editor

Many of you  have suffered with my not so great grammar and punctuation over the past four years and I apologize. I have a mild form of dyslexia and the English language was never a strong point for me during my education. I am happy to inform you that things are changing here at the Tiny House Blog with the addition of a copy editor.

Kasey March has joined Tiny House Blog as the copy editor. She graduated from the College of New Jersey with a BA in English and minors in Creative Writing and Women & Gender Studies. She recently began a trend spotting, decoration, & DIY blog Buttonwood Cottage (buttonwoodcottage.blogspot.com). By day, she is a college consultant in Pennsylvania where she helps juniors and seniors find schools that are the right fit. By night, she works on her plan to build a cob home that meets her tiny house needs. When not researching cob building, she is ignored by her cat, Calvin, and adored by her dog, Hobbs, who live with her in southern New Jersey.

Please join me and welcome Kasey to the Tiny House Blog team.
