I drove to Cottage Grove, Oregon to meet Todd Miller and
tour his model home. Wow! It’s absolutely beautiful. The quality of
construction is the best of the best. It’s structurally engineered to
withstand just about any disaster thrown at it. I have never seen
anyone think the structural aspect of the home through so thoroughly.
He’s so passionate about his work. He talked and shared for almost
four hours. As an architect he’s an absolute wealth of knowledge, yet
his knowledge is practical as he has the actual hands on experience in
all areas of construction. He was able to think through all the
various ways of doing things sharing the pros and cons of each. He has
the structural expertise and connections with various agencies that
will help drive this small home movement. I was impressed in his
ability to always steer the conversation to the positive, looking at
possibilities instead of hurdles.

Are these pictures from 2 different houses? The front door/kitchen seem different.
Hi EJ – It is the same house. The kitchen is on both sides, sink on one side, burner’s etc. on the other. I was a little confused at first also. I’ll can see if Todd has a floor plan to show us…Kent
Are there plans and resources for fixtures (shower, commode, heater, H2O capacity and available fridge and non-gas stove option? Thanks. Terrific build and excellent photo presentation. gus

Gus, Thanks for your kind comments and yes I am willing to sell plans and share equipment/fixture cut sheets. I have been getting more requests recently and think it is time to put together a set of construction drawings for publication.
PS I have completed the Cottage Show model by adding a hinged ladder with a sliding track and installed all the cabinet doors and drawers. The Cottage has a pending sale and I hope to be sending it to it’s new home in a week. It looks great. I will be updating my website shortly so please pay me a web visit in a week or so for the latest photos.

I just dont understand How is the common person able to afford this house? I dont know any one that has 50,000 to spend on one of these if I could I would love to get one and have been looking on line to find a way for me to maybe take a loan out to buy one I am one guy and love the simple feel of your mini house on wheels. Maybe you have some ideas on how i could afford to get one
Hypothetically if you’ve long-term parked this thing out in no man’s land. How does one go about washing their laundry in a house this small?
