Hi Christina,

I work as a dealer in the Palm Springs area for Cavco homes since Laural Creek went out of business. Did you work with Laural Creek Homes?

Thanks for the information Shaelyn. Yes, they closed as of May 1, 2009. There are several other park models and companies profiled on the Tiny House Blog for those who are interested.

i checked out a few park models last summer at a dealer and was really impressed with the amount of space they had to offer. the only set back in my opinion is that you cannot buy them partially unfinished on the interiors, and i found the materials to be very mainstream and subpar. the interior also smelled strongly of chemicals.!!

Has anyone considered using this concept for a development of affordable starter homes, or homes for singles, couples or empty nesters?

Nice concept, but sorry to see paneling, veneer and wall to wall carpet used throughout. How to recycle these materials? How much do they off-gas? What is wrong with wood?

This is exactly how tiny I want my home to bee! I was trying to put something like this together with google sketchup that was similar, but the roof slanted down from the upper level to the first level above the front door. It can't be too efficient to heat that big open space. Sadly my 3d skills are not so great.
