Amped Wireless Power-strip and Smart Plug Review

Are you thinking of venturing into the smart home arena but not sure where to start? Are you tired of reaching behind your Christmas tree to plug in those lights? Would you like a light to come on when you are away from your tiny home?

I’ve recently had the opportunity to test out Amped Wireless smart plug and power strip. I chose to use it with our indoor Christmas lights and found it very useful.

I connected the power strip to some lights we would be turning on every day, downloaded the iOS app that goes along with it, and following the simple instructions set it up so that I could turn them on and off from my iPhone.

Amped Wireless has an app that works with Android and it can be set up to work with Amazon Alexa with voice commands too.

With the app you can manually turn it on or off yourself or you can set it up on a timer to go on and off at specific times.

Included both with the power strip and smart plug are USB charging abilities. Simply plug it into your USB charger and connect to whatever device you want to charge. You are also able to program the USB slots so you could have them set to come on and go off when you charge your devices at night.

The smart plug is great, but it does limit you to just one plug and and one USB charger. The neat thing about the power strip is that you can plug in multiple chords and have multiple programmed times for the different outlets.

This is my first intro to smart home and wifi control and I’m enjoying it and would recommend it as a great option if you are also looking for this type of control.

I brought these from their website directly and am happy with them as well. Very easy to set up and the app was very user friendly.
