Today’s video is about Felice Cohen who lives in a 90 square foot microstudio in Manhattan. By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan’s Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month. She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot microstudio.
“I think a lot of people have a lot of space that they’re not using. I grew up in a place where my bedroom was 17 feet by 17 feet with two walk-in closets that combined where almost the size of this apartment that when I go home now I go in the closet just to feel like I’m back in New York.”

That is fantastic. I love the flexibility with which this woman has adapted to her surroundings by prioritizing what is important and using what is available. Excellent!
Cozy is a wonderful quality in a home!
I think its a great use of space and it really doesnt seem cluttered or crampt, course sitting here in the sticks of the ozarks my thought was $700 is crazy, but hey thats New York, after watching the video it makes me think I may be building my units too big, great post.

This is a great example of what you can do with a tiny space. It works for her, though it might not work for someone else. That’s the beauty of the tiny house attitude, you make it work for what you actually need and don’t worry about what somebody else might think you need. Luckily you can have both substance and style!
I have never seen anything like this done to apartments in Manhattan. Where can you even find a space that small for rent?
This is certainly innovative, but my claustrophobia would get the best of me!
If it works for her, that’s great. However, there’s no way that crawlspace of a bed could be for romance.
