Starting on November 1, 2016 you will be able to bid on a tiny house built completely from recycled and donated materials. The Wild Rivers Retreat was constructed by the Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin. The starting bid will begin at $10,000 and all proceeds will go to the Wild Rivers Habitat.
The Wild Rivers Retreat will be up for an eBay auction on November 1
The 164 square foot home is built on 5×6 skids with a cable on both ends for transporting. The house also includes some beautiful features like alder wood paneling, a bay window, and some fun, mismatched kitchen cabinets. The overhead beams are actually recycled telephone poles. The house is currently on display at the Wild Rivers ReStore. It was also featured at the Tiny House Expo in St. Croix Falls.

The one-of-a-kind retreat has a very basic kitchen, living space and two lofts, but no bathroom. However, for this price, you can afford to have an elegant little bathroom right next door. The winner of the auction will also be required have a mover’s permit to transport the tiny house to its final location. The bidding will be held on eBay on November 1 at 7:00 am UTC.

The proceeds from the auction of the Retreat will benefit the organization’s efforts to fight poverty. Across Wisconsin, 42 percent of households struggle to afford basic necessities including decent housing. Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity helps qualified individuals and families with critical home repairs, neighborhood revitalization projects and new home construction.
All proceeds from the auction will go to Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat participants provide sweat equity and pay an interest free mortgage or loan following completion of the project. Unlike conventional financing, Habitat mortgages and loans are based on the individual’s ability to pay. Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity is helping build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
