Michelle Boyle is a force to be reckoned with in the tiny house movement. She's a blogger, tiny house builder, Tiny House Podcast's hostess with the mostess, MC diva, community organizer and now event organizer. Phew!
This tiny lady with a whole lotta personality and style can hardly sit still. Her passion for tiny is all consuming. After completing her personal tiny home on wheels as investment in her personal well-being and financial future, Michelle is now mostly through build #2 and beginning build #3. These tiny home rentals are her retirement plan.
Michelle loves a good challenge. It's no surprise that when she heard Christian and I were coming to document Portland's vibrant tiny home community, she immediately volunteered to help us find parking and to organize a community screening of our educational documentary series, Living Tiny Legally. This evolved into sponsored mini-festival (she's the ultimate queen of sponsorships; check out her blog, My Empty Nest to learn more).
Tiny PDX presents TinyFest is an educational and inspirational event in the beautiful destination town of Sherwood, OR (near Portland). Featuring tiny house models from local builders, Covo Tiny House Company and Thimble Homes; vendors include TrailerMade Trailers. DIY builders and advocates will be onsite all day to share personal stories and resources with attendees. After the final documentary screening, the event will conclude with a lively panel discussion on local and national advocacy efforts, and all things tiny.
Michelle, our event hostess with the mostess, recently presented to the Sherwood city council on including tiny houses in the their ADU (accessory dwelling unit) zoning revamp. Supportive city council members are anticipated to attend Saturday's event.
As Michelle likes to say, be the change you want to see in the world. Come out and get inspired!
