Tiny Houses of Floyd, Virginia Tour

by Hari Berzins

I wanted to let you and your readers know that we are opening our home to the public for the first time on May 17, 2014 when we join four other tiny homes to create the Tiny Houses of Floyd, Virginia Tour. We will all convene at the Floyd Country Store after the tour for a screening of the movie TINY: A story about living small.

The tiny house tour is a fundraiser for Sustain Floyd, a local non-profit working to leverage and preserve traditional strengths in agriculture and craftsmanship to help build a resilient local economy. We are delighted to share our home with tiny house enthusiasts and glad to do so while helping a worthy cause.

This event is sure to be a great opportunity for folks to get ideas and meet tiny house dwellers and enthusiasts all while enjoying the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Tickets are limited and will be available on the Sustain Floyd website starting May 1st.

I’ve created a Facebook event here.

Thanks!
Hari Berzins

  1. I should have know that Floyd, VA would be a home to Tiny Homes. While I now live in Oregon, during the late 1980’s I lived in Roanoke and I worked for UPS and I delivered to Floyd County. While I am not able to attend this event, I wish you all the best.

  2. Hello There,

If a couple of out of towners were considering joining you for the weekend… where per say would you recommend they look for logging.

My husband and I are considering asking for the weekend off of work and making a roadtrip out of coming to visit Floyd. But budget and accommodations have us unsure. So we thought we’d see if there were any locals with suggestions.

  3. I did my Timberframe apprenticeship with Blue Ridge Timberwrights and lived up on White Oak Grove. It is the most beautiful place (center of the universe) and the people who make it their Home are some of the most talanted and nurturing people I could ever hope to meet.
